The Lost Islands of Baru - History.
For generations, pre-Columbian visitors who ventured to the uninhabited islands of Baru arrived by dug-out canoe to harvest the rich island resources. They slipped past turquoise fringed reefs, green rain forests and endless beaches marked only by the footprints of large sea turtles.
Still just as unspoiled as the day of Baru's first discovery by Europeans Baru is recognized by world cruising yachts as one of the most beautiful anchorages along the Pacific coast with good diving, friendly natives and awesome sunsets.
